This includes their product detail pages where they want to increase customer engagement by showing the most relevant products. However, even with a large and diverse catalog, the number of alternatives might be incredibly small for a specific item.
How did we approach this case?
We used collaborative filtering in the algorithms in our modules to look at the behavior of the entire customer base to determine similar products based on the products that are commonly viewed or purchased together.

By combining collaborative filtering with content-based recommendations, we used the product name or brand as a basis to provide relevant recommendations. This optimized the results, increasing the CTR from 0.7% to 4.7%.
