How Froomle & Mediahuis Achieve Impactful Personalization

"Despite a consensus that personalization is key and high ambitions in the area of personalization are being put forward by many, today most news media companies struggle to achieve a significant impact with personalization. Typically, less than 5% of all Web site, app, and e-mail positions are personalized. Personalization is limited to designated zones receiving almost no traffic. Personalized article recommendations on high traffic pages are shown at the bottom of a page, getting very few impressions. And newsrooms are unhappy with the quality of recommendations. Koen performed scientific research on recommendations systems as a Ph.D. and is postdoctoral researcher at the University of Antwerp. Working closely with scientists from Netflix and Apple, he learned that true personalization can be achieved with artificial intelligence.
In the masterclass he will share learnings on improving the performance of news personalisation and their recommender system. The Masterclass will be moderated by Earl Wilkinson, Executive Director, and CEO.
